Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Care
Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: Approximately 26 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
- Ability to float to other facilities within the health system
- Ambulatory care role including phone triage, rooming, and urgent referral review
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU, Med/Surg, or Emergency Room (ER)
- Minimum 1 year of ambulatory care experience, including phone triage, rooming, and urgent referral review
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in ambulatory otolaryngology, including care for head and neck conditions and tracheostomy care
- Experience performing blood draws for Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and assisting with procedures
- Experience with Epic "In-Basket" program
Certifications and Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified (required for ICU and ER roles)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified (required for all clinical positions)
- Pass/Fail Telemetry and Medication Tests required on first day of orientation
- Unit-specific competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exams with passing scores required
- Core clinical training modules must be completed annually with a passing score of 80% or higher
Background and Health Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check including specific county and nationwide checks
- Education verification (copy of diploma or transcript acceptable)
- Drug testing: Standard 9-panel (excluding THC), required within 30 days of start and every 2 years thereafter
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician statement of fitness to work
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific approved mask types required)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, no declinations accepted without medical exemption)
- Negative TB tests (2 required, with specific timing and documentation)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (IGG titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (IGG titer or 2 vaccines; history of disease not accepted)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption, including booster doses
Additional Requirements
- Two supervisory references required, preferably from the most recent employment
- Current and updated resume covering the last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30 days or more must be explained
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
- Completion of facility-specific learning modules and cybersecurity awareness training prior to starting work
- Compliance with facility-specific COVID-19 preparedness and vaccination policies
