Role Overview

• Travel/Contract RN in Charleston, West Virginia
• 39-bed 2W Ortho-Telemetry unit
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
• 36- or 48-hour contract options
• Adult and geriatric patient populations
• Unit is an observation setting with high turnover and an average stay of 36 hours or less
• Typical ratio is 5:1; can increase to 6–7:1 if there is a call-in or sick staff member
• Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in West Virginia
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Post Cardiac Cath patients
• Post cardiac cath, post angiogram, and PTCA experience
• Experience with cardiac or critical care drips
• IV insertion skills
• Every other weekend required

Preferred Qualifications

• Cardioversion experience
• TEE experience
• Thoracentesis experience
• Bone marrow biopsy experience
• Chest tube insertion experience
• Central line insertion experience
• Paracentesis experience

Schedule Notes

• Can work 48 or 36 hours
• Overtime starts after the 48th hour if working 4 shifts
• May be called off once per 2-week pay period if needed
• Open to blocked schedule requests
• Holiday RTO requests should be limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays

Additional Notes

• 36 hours guaranteed
• Flu shot is required unless a medical or religious exemption is approved
• Perm employees cannot return as travelers for 2 years after their last perm end date
• Parking is free for travelers
