Job Opportunity: PCU/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

• Position in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry unit.
• Interview required.
• Float assignment required.
• Solid black scrubs required.
• Block scheduling requests will not be accommodated.
• Return to Office (RTO) allowed up to 7 days maximum; no RTO during first two weeks of assignment.
• Epic electronic health record experience required within the last 12 months. Candidates must specify where Epic was last used on their resume.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing for Ohio.
• Minimum 2+ years of PCU/Telemetry nursing experience required.
• Accredited nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (American Heart Association only, AHA RQI acceptable)
  • BLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required through Apex, Health Stream, or AHA.
• Fit test for N95 respirators (3M 1870+ N95, Medline Cone Small, 3M 1860 Reg & Small) within one year, updated annually.
• Must be able to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations (pre-employment physical required within one year).

Required Immunizations and Health Screenings

• COVID-19 Vaccine (fully vaccinated with 2 doses if applicable; medical/religious exemptions reviewed case-by-case).
• MMR: Titer or 2 adult MMR vaccines required; no declinations accepted.
• Hepatitis B: Titer or proof of complete 3-series vaccine; signed declinations accepted.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required October through April; medical/religious exemptions require agency approval and attestation.
• Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines required; no declinations accepted.
• Tdap: Within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
• Tuberculosis Screening:

  • 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) required with specific timing before start.
  • If positive PPD, negative chest X-ray within 1 year required along with TB questionnaire.
• Annual TB Questionnaire (specific form required).

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually.
• Criminal background check compliant with FCRA standards, including 7-year search and multiple databases; must be run within 90 days of start.
• OIG and EPLS federal exclusion checks within 90 days of start.
• Education verification through third-party.
• Social Security card or number verification required.
• Valid government-issued photo ID required.
• License verification and primary source verification within 30 days of start.

Competency and Skills Testing

• Unit-specific competency exam required annually.
• Unit-specific skills checklist completed annually.
• EKG and Telemetry exams with passing score of 80% or higher, within one year.
• Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics updated annually.

This position is ideal for experienced PCU/Telemetry RNs who meet the certification, immunization, and competency requirements and are comfortable working in a fast-paced telemetry environment with Epic EHR.
