Registered Nurse - Surgery
Location: Redding, California
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 52 weeks (1 year)
Shift: 8-hour shifts, variable days and nights (must be able to work both)
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with a specialty in Surgery to work variable 8-hour shifts including days and nights.
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for California (Nursys verification required at onboarding)
- Certifications:
- ACLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- BLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- DCI/BVP (Workplace Violence Prevention training)
- Testing & Exams:
- Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%)
- Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening (minimum 80%)
- Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)
- Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
- Professional Requirements:
- Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (valid for 2 years)
- Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport
- OIG Exclusion Search
- Resume (up-to-date, reflecting recent work history)
- Two professional references (one from a manager or direct supervisor)
- Criminal Background Check (national, within one year of start date)
- Badge Photo (clear headshot)
- Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
- Job Description signed by employee (current within the year)
- Education Verification (diploma or transcripts if third-party verification unavailable)
- Health & Immunizations:
- Drug Screening (minimum 10-panel including THC saliva test for California) within 60 days of start
- Color-blind test (annual)
- COVID-19 Vaccine: 2 doses plus booster or documented declination
- MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination (declinations not accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine or declination (required during flu season; declinations not accepted)
- TB Test within 1 year of start date
- Varicella vaccination or immunity titer
- Tdap vaccine as an adult (declinations not accepted)
- Physical/Health Statement annually, stating clear to work
- Additional:
- Respirator Fit Test (annual; must be completed prior to start if not available onsite)
