CT Technologist - Boston, Massachusetts (Long-Term Assignment)
Position Overview
- Operate CT equipment (CT scanner, Power Injector, Laser Printer, Patient monitoring devices) to acquire diagnostic images for physician use.
- Required Level 1 trauma and Siemens CT experience.
- Float among radiology clinics and divisions as needed.
- Prepare patients properly (positioning, immobilization, shielding) and select appropriate imaging factors.
- Explain exams to patients considering their physical and emotional needs.
- Deliver patient care within scope of license/training.
- Maintain effective communication with hospital personnel.
- Calibrate and verify equipment daily; report malfunctions.
- Complete Radiology Information System tasks (scheduling, exam completion, image transfer).
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction.
- Attend staff meetings, in-services, and maintain CEUs per Massachusetts licensure and ARRT requirements.
- May oversee and instruct radiology and technology students.
- Prepare equipment rooms and stock supplies.
- Participate in research, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects.
- Provide on-call coverage and flexible shift/overtime availability.
- Rotate within department, divisions, and off-site clinics as required.
- Transport and transfer patients per departmental guidelines.
- Use independent judgment and initiative during exams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Education & Experience Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- CT registration by ARRT or equivalent required and must be maintained.
- 2-3 years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred, including at least 1 year of cross-sectional anatomy coursework.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients under physical/emotional stress.
- Analytical skills to understand imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and cross-sectional anatomy.
Required Credentials & Compliance (must be completed prior to or at onboarding)
- MGB Badge Photo (recent, professional headshot)
- BLS Certification (AHA preferred)
- License/Certificate Verification (primary source verification, no conditional licenses)
- N95 Fit Test (within 1 year, updated annually)
- ARRT Certification
- MMR Immunization or proof of immunity
- Influenza Vaccine (required during flu season)
- TB Test (skin test or blood test within 3 months)
- Health Statement (physician-signed within 1 year)
- Criminal Background Check (within 45 days)
- Massachusetts CORI background check (within 30 days)
- Resume (past 7 years of work experience)
- References (2 recent, including at least 1 supervisor)

Preferred/Optional Credentials

This position requires flexibility, strong technical skills, and adherence to strict credentialing and health compliance standards. It offers the opportunity to work in a Level 1 trauma center environment with Siemens CT technology.
