Medical Surgical Float

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Redlands, California
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• No locals within 50 miles
• Single set of RTO up to 7 consecutive days will be considered, excluding holidays
• 24-hour orientation
• Navy scrubs are required and not provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Telemetry (1 year of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Management/Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry - on the unit monitoring
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Post MI care
• Experience with feeding tubes
• Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management
• Renal failure care
• Accessing Ports
• BPA
• Central line care/management

Preferred

• Insulin 3:1
• Meditech experience
• Skills/experience preferred:

  • Post Cardiac Angiogram
  • IV insulin protocols
  • Titration of Insulin drips
  • Titrate Cardiac drips
  • Pre/Post neurosurgery

Float Scope

• Float within areas of competency: med/surg, tele, obs

• SBAR communication
• Omnicell med system
• Provider support includes Interpretation Services, Lift Teams, Pharmacy, Phlebotomy, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Unit Secretary
• Intensivist and Hospitalist provider coverage
