Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Job Details

- Shift: Evening/Nights (1900-0730, 2300-0730, 1500-2330)
- Schedule: Every other weekend rotation, holidays, and 1 call shift every 6-week scheduling period
- Floating: May be required to float to multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs
Job Responsibilities
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
- Provide aerosolized medication, volume expansion, airway clearance techniques, tracheostomy care, and sputum inductions
- Manage non-invasive ventilation, high flow, and mechanical ventilation at IMC and ICU levels
- Collaborate with physicians, care team leaders, nurses, and patients/families to develop and evaluate patient care plans
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 2 years as a staff Respiratory Therapist (higher value confirmed)
- Experience in both pediatric and adult populations preferred
- Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma Center or similar size hospital required
- Prior travel experience highly preferred (not explicitly required but strongly favored)
Education
- Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited Respiratory Therapy program required
Licensure & Certifications
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in Wisconsin upon hire
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC required
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
- ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications may be required depending on unit assignment
Additional Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including SSN trace, nationwide, sex offender, and state-specific caregiver screening (WI)
- Education verification required for Respiratory Therapists
- Drug screening per Vaya standard
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or exemption
- Varicella vaccination or exemption
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual requirement)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination (if applicable)
- Facility-specific forms such as communicable disease form, photo for badge, and various waiver forms
- Telemetry testing (Adult and Pediatric) required for inpatient units, with remediation process for failed attempts
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
