Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Schedule: 4x10 hour days, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
• Responsibilities:

  • Scrub and circulate during procedures
  • Perform diagnostic right and left heart catheterizations
  • Interventional catheterizations including Rotablator, IABP, Closure Devices
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Sterile procedure and equipment setup
• Patient Population: Middle Adult to Geriatrics
• Electronic Medical Record: Must have Epic experience

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year recent Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• Certification: ARRT or RCIS
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience working with Adult and Geriatric patients
• Must be able to scrub and circulate during procedures
• Experience performing diagnostic right and left heart catheterizations
• Experience with interventional catheterizations including Rotablator, IABP, and Closure Devices
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Proficient in sterile procedure and equipment setup
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 6 months including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
• Physical exam within 6 months of start, signed by DO, MD, NP, APRN, or PA
• Negative QuantiFERON TB test within 6 months (no TSPOT or PPD accepted)
• Annual fit mask test with approved masks (3M 1860 Regular or Small)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
• Immunizations:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella (boosters or declination accepted)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccines or positive titer (boosters or declination accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Two professional references from the last 2 years required

Candidates must complete the following online modules and provide certificates of completion:

• Broward Health Clinical/Online Orientation Module (1-year expiration)
• Annual Risk Management Course Module
• General Compliance & Ethics Training Module
• Code of Conduct Module
• Comprehensive Emergency Management Education Module
• Preventing & Reporting Workplace Harassment Module
• Additional nursing-specific modules if applicable (e.g., Recognizing Impairment, Handling Hazardous Drugs, Stroke Core Measures, IV Medication Safety, End of Life, Procedural Sedation, etc.)

Additional Notes

• Locals within a 60-mile radius are considered
• Must carry photo ID during work hours
• Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting required prior to start
• All certifications must be current and not expire within 30 days of start date

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with strong procedural skills and certifications, ready to work in a fast-paced cardiac catheterization lab environment.
