Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Per Diem)

Job Description

ICU Registered Nurses are needed for per diem shifts in various intensive care units including Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU. Candidates must be prepared to work independently without orientation and be comfortable floating to lower acuity units such as Med-Surg, Telemetry, and ED Holding as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years as a travel ICU RN or
  • Minimum 1 year recent experience as a staff ICU RN
• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active RN License (California)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
• Skills:

  • Epic electronic health record experience required
  • Ability and willingness to float to lower acuity units
• References:

  • 2 professional references required (minimum 1 supervisor) within the last 12 months

Shift Details

• Day shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Pre-booking available via app
• Cancellation policy: Removal from pool if 2 shifts are canceled within 24 hours of shift start in a 30-day period

Orientation & Onboarding

• No formal orientation provided
• Clinicians must complete approximately 8 hours of pre-start modules
• Must be ready to start independently on first shift

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask (N95 or PAPR) within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Required vaccinations or immunity documentation:

  • TDAP (within last 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (declination acceptable if low/equivocal)
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination (declination acceptable if low/equivocal)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine (required November 1 - April 30; declination accepted)
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (excluding marijuana panel due to CA state law)
• HIPAA and Epic training modules must be completed prior to start

Additional Notes

• Candidates with recent attendance or performance issues may require additional references or statements of improvement
• Must comply with MemorialCare’s dress code (navy blue scrubs)
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
