Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (IR Tech) - Travel/Contract

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 4x10 hour days, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Employment Type: Travel/Contract


Job Summary

Seeking an Interventional Radiology Tech with a minimum of 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are accepted. The position includes call rotation averaging 10 days per month, including weekends. The role requires experience in outpatient, inpatient, and adult ICU settings, with specific procedural expertise.


Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in Interventional Radiology (highest stated requirement)
  • Experience with:
    • PACS, C-Arm, Contrast, and Biopsies
    • Procedures including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrogram, peripherals, biopsies, drainages, vascular studies, venous access, neuro studies, GU, Abdomen and Pelvis, and upper/lower extremities
  • Ability to use and deploy pushable/detachable coils, micro catheters and micro wires, Snare Kits, and injector systems (preferably ACIST)
  • Epic electronic health record experience required
  • Work experience in outpatient, inpatient, and adult ICU settings required
  • Call rotation required (average 10 days/month including weekends)
  • Must be able to work 36 guaranteed hours per week

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Pending license may be accepted at manager's discretion
  • State license as applicable for Missouri (MO) or Compact License

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Additional Requirements

  • Call rotation participation required
  • Locals within 70 miles not accepted (candidate must be more than 70 miles from facility)
  • No floating outside scope of practice
  • Background check within 12 months required
  • Drug screening within 12 months required
  • Physical exam within 1 year required
  • Fit mask testing onsite during orientation (clean-shaven required for fit test)
  • Immunizations and health documents including TB test, flu vaccine or exemption, COVID vaccine preferred, and other standard health screenings required
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and documentation required

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with adult patients
  • Experience in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Experience with stents, angioplasty, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrogram, and peripherals
  • Proficient with Epic electronic health record system
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
