Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Travel/Contract)
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Unit Beds: 16
Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required (unit will not accept first-time travelers)
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted; renewal required if expiring within 30 days of start
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted; renewal required if expiring within 30 days of start
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- Licensure: Active Louisiana state license or Compact license required upon submission; renewal must be in process if expiring within 30 days of start
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
- Sex offender search required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
- Education verification of highest level required (not applicable if licensed)
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Tdap vaccine required for select areas (ED, Pediatrics, Mother/Baby, NICU)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30)
- Additional Documentation:
- Current/valid driver's license or government photo ID (color copy)
- Resume/application and skills checklist updated annually
- Photo for badge (passport-style, recent, plain background)
Important Notes
- Upon assignment acceptance, you may be required to join an "Emergency Team" and stay onsite during emergency events as directed by your unit manager. Candidates uncomfortable with this should not apply.
- Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted for this unit.
This position is ideal for experienced respiratory or neuro diagnostics professionals comfortable with travel assignments and emergency response duties.
