Registered Nurse (LTC RN) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Marion, Virginia
Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
Start Date: ASAP (Orientation daily)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Long-Term Care Registered Nurse
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
• First-time Travelers: Accepted
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Shift Type: Night shift (12 hours)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• On-call: No on-call required
• Block Schedule: Allowed
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live more than 100 miles from facility)
• Pending License: Accepted
• Return to Office Restrictions: None
• Additional Info:

  • 16 hours of non-billable orientation required
  • Facility may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
  • Overtime shifts available and may be flexed based on census/resource needs

Required Certifications & Skills

• Certifications:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • ACLS and PALS as applicable by specialty
• Skills:

  • IV Therapy/Medication administration including peripheral line care
  • Oxygen administration via nasal cannula or face mask
  • Isolation and PPE protocols

Licensure & Documentation Requirements

• Valid State License (primary source verification required)
• NURSYS verification prior to start
• Background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG
• Physical exam within last 12 months
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (9-panel) within last 12 months
• Professional references (2 within last 3 years)
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Additional Notes

• Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the facility’s service area
• Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgment and Joint Commission training
• No special requirements or restrictions beyond those listed
