Work Schedule & Requirements

  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required annually; advanced dysrhythmia required for all RNs
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for awareness on multiple units; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with remediation required after failures

Background & Health Requirements

  • Background check required within 6 months of start, including:
    • SSN Trace
    • 7-year county residence history
    • Nationwide and sex offender search
    • International search if lived/worked outside US in past 7 years
  • Physical exam required within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
    • Rubeola (Measles) - titer or 2 vaccines
    • Mumps - titer or 2 vaccines
    • Rubella - titer or 2 vaccines
    • Hepatitis B - vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination
    • Varicella - titer or 2 vaccines
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual TB screening required
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
