Work Schedule & Requirements

• Weekend requirement: Yes, every other weekend

• Floating: Yes, must float within scope to meet facility needs between like units
• Block scheduling: Open to accommodating
• Locals accepted: No (50-mile radius rule)
• Pending license: Not accepted
• Return to work restrictions: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• Contract limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
• Guaranteed hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed

Experience Requirements

• NIH Stroke Certification: Required annually for specific units (ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required annually; advanced dysrhythmia required for all RNs
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for awareness on multiple units; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with remediation required after failures

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check required within 6 months of start, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • 7-year county residence history
  • Nationwide and sex offender search
  • International search if lived/worked outside US in past 7 years
• Physical exam required within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)

  • Hepatitis B - vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination
