Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 5:15 PM)
- Total Hours per Week: 40
- Must have experience in vascular and endovascular procedures (hybrid OR)
- Proficiency required in main OR surgeries
- Position requires on-call duty 1-2 shifts per week, including nights and weekends
- Call schedule: 2 weekend calls every 6 weeks (dates subject to change)
- Block scheduling requests will not be accepted
- Local candidates will not be considered
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in vascular surgery
- Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current CPI certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Experience & References
- Minimum 2 years RN experience in specialty required
- Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required
- Two professional references from employment within the last 3 years required; one must be from a supervisory role
Health & Background Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by physician, NP, or PA
- Fit testing for N95 mask within 1 year of start (PAPR allowed onsite)
- Full TDAP vaccine within past 10 years (declinations allowed except for Pediatrics, PICU, Pediatric ER, Mom & Baby, Labor & Delivery units)
- Negative TB test (QuantiFERON Gold, Tspot, or PPD) within 3 months of start; chest x-ray required if TB test positive
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (declinations allowed with signed form)
- Drug testing: 12-panel urine drug screen required within 30 days of start, must be started within 72 hours of booking
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30) or approved medical/religious exemption with facility-specific form
Compliance & Documentation
- Background checks must be completed within 30 days of assignment start and cannot be pending at start
- Must include 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Employment application and skills checklist must be current and complete
- State license and NURSYS verification must be run within 30 days of start
- Facility-specific job description and orientation sign-offs required

- Orientation dates are scheduled periodically (next known dates: May 11, June 1)
- Call schedule and shift requirements are mandatory and subject to change
- No block scheduling or local candidates accepted for this position
