Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Covington, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
• Daily Caseload: Approximately 15 cases
• Work Setting: Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab
• Call Required
• Scrubs Provided
• EPIC system experience required
• Preferred equipment experience: GE Innova
• Preferred monitoring/recording systems: Maclab, Xper

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R) or ARRT certification
• Experience with EPIC system

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start (not required by employer but required for placement)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper documentation)
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella (boosters required if titers low)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination (declinations must be signed within 12 months of start)
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (boosters required if titer low)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (two-step skin test or equivalent)
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31), with medical/religious exemptions accepted
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel or expanded panel depending on hire date)

Documentation and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation required
• Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days
• E-Verify/I9 documentation required
• Background checks must be current within 6 months and updated annually
• Additional facility-specific policies and documentation must be reviewed and acknowledged prior to start

Summary

This Cath Lab Tech travel assignment requires a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience, relevant certifications (ACLS, ARRT R, BLS), and proficiency with EPIC and preferred cardiac cath lab equipment. The role involves day shifts with call responsibilities in a high-volume cardiac cath lab setting. Comprehensive health, background, and competency requirements must be met prior to and during the assignment. First-time travel candidates are welcome.
