Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Gallipolis, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Patient Ratio: 1:5 (flex to 1:6)
Charting System: Paragon
Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends; no call shifts required
Floating: May be required

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a Medical Surgical unit during night shifts.
• Work within a 50-mile radius rule.
• Block scheduling available on a case-by-case basis.
• First-time travelers are welcome.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID and Social Security Card.
• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, counties lived/worked, statewide, national criminal, sex offender, and FACIS Level 3.
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• BCI and FBI fingerprinting within 12 months of start, updated every 5 years.
• Education verification.
• Physical exam clearing candidate to work without restrictions (within 6 months for acute care).
• Fit mask testing within 6 months of start (specific mask types required).
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Quantiferon Gold acceptable; Tspot not accepted)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination/declination
  • Hepatitis B immunity or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
• Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Flu vaccine or signed declination for the 2025-26 flu season.
• COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination.
• Two positive professional references related to similar clinical experience.
• Employment application documenting 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years in acute care in a similar area.
• Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually.
• Completion of facility-specific documents including confidentiality, orientation, dress code, cultural competency, and code of conduct acknowledgments.
• Recent passport-style photo for badge.
