Job Opportunity: Inpatient Rehab Physical Therapist

Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide inpatient rehabilitation physical therapy services.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, with 3 weekends required per contract (candidate can choose which weekends and comp days the week prior or after).
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Must be able to shave for mask fit testing (no exceptions; failure to shave will result in cancellation).
• Local candidates not accepted (must be outside a 70-mile radius).
• Required skills include neurology, orthopedics, rehabilitation hospital experience, plan of care development, evaluations, total hip and knee replacements, home exercise programs, and patient/family education.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Wisconsin.
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
• At least 1 year of inpatient rehabilitation Physical Therapy experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in neurology and orthopedics rehabilitation.
• Experience working in a rehabilitation hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.

Additional Requirements

• Criminal background check within 12 months of start.
• Negative drug screen within 12 months of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health.
• Immunizations and/or titers as per standard healthcare requirements (including but not limited to Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
• COVID vaccination series preferred.
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start.
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and documentation.
• Completion of fit mask testing onsite during first week of orientation.
• Required to complete various facility-specific forms and agreements prior to start.

Skills & Competencies

• Neurology and orthopedics rehabilitation.
• Experience with total hip and knee replacements.
• Ability to develop and implement home exercise programs.
• Patient and family education skills.
• Experience in rehabilitation hospital settings.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR system.

Work Environment

• Inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting.
• Monday through Friday schedule with some weekend coverage.
• No call duties.
• Strict mask fit testing policy requiring clean-shaven face.

Notes for Candidates

• Candidates must comply with all health and safety requirements including fit testing and immunizations.
• Failure to comply with mask fit testing requirements will result in removal from assignment.
• Candidates will complete orientation and required training modules prior to or during the first week of assignment.
• This is a travel contract position; local candidates within 70 miles are not eligible.
