Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: Oakland, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12)
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
• Call: None
• Holidays: Work if falls on scheduled shift
• Required skills:

  • Circulate for C-Section
  • Recover C-Section
  • Pain assessment and management

Required Qualifications

• Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Labor and Delivery
• Minimum Experience: 2 years in specialty
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Licensure: Current, unencumbered RN license valid in California
• Photo ID: Valid Driver’s License or Passport (color photo required)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks within 90 days prior to start, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • 7-year Nationwide and County Criminal searches
  • National Sex Offender Registry
  • OIG Sanction Search
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM verification
• Education verification: Highest level of education must be verified and meet minimum requirements
• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, NP, or APRN confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
• Fit mask test within 90 days of start (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap within 10 years or signed declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) proof of vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B positive titer or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (masking required during flu season)
• Drug testing: Oral saliva drug screen within 30 days of start (specific analytes required)
• Competency exams and safety orientation required on first day of work
• Photo for badge: Passport style, no filters

Additional Notes

• References and employment verification for the past 3 years required
• Competencies must be completed by the end of the first day of the contract
• No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
