Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Night shifts available (7p-7a or 9p-7a)
- Weekend Requirement: Every 4th weekend
- Unit: Radiology
- Patient Population: Trauma patients, pediatrics, operating room C-arms, portable exams
- Charting System: Epic
- Scheduling: Based on unit needs; no block schedules
Required Qualifications
- Valid X-Ray Technician license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an X-Ray Technician within the last year
- Previous experience with a Level I or Level II facility
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work with trauma patients and perform portable exams including operating room C-arms
- Valid state ID required
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history and education verification
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, including physician statement of fitness to work without restrictions
- Drug testing within 30 days of start
- Immunizations or valid declinations required for:
- COVID-19 (most recent vaccine or declination)
- Flu seasonal vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, TDAP (with some declination restrictions for pediatrics and maternity)
- TB testing and questionnaire required
- References: 2 within the last 3 years
- Employment history covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
Notes
- No prior travel contract experience required
- Must be able to pass all required competency exams and certifications prior to or at orientation
- Scheduling is flexible but must accommodate unit needs; no fixed block schedules allowed
This position is ideal for Radiology Technologists with at least one year of experience, comfortable working night shifts and weekends, and skilled in trauma and pediatric imaging in a fast-paced hospital environment.
