Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist Assistant (Outpatient)

Location

• District Heights, Maryland

Employment Type

• Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
• No weekend scheduling

Patient Load

• Average 12-14 patients per day
• Approximately 60 patients per week
• Some locations may double book patients

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
• Experience in an Outpatient setting

Required Certifications and Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
• National Technician Certification as applicable

Required Health and Compliance Documents

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year; chest X-ray if positive PPD within 5 years
• Immunizations or positive titers for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)

Background and Screening Requirements

• Background check within 1 year including Social Security trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide sex offender, and FACIS Level 1M
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• References:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care

Additional Information

• Full support staff available including front office and PT aides/techs to assist clinicians
• Orientation includes meeting staff, EMR introduction, shadowing treatments, and gradual patient care ramp-up

This position is ideal for experienced PTAs seeking a travel contract in an outpatient setting with a structured schedule and strong clinical support.
