Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Night Shift)

Location: Mayfield Heights, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
• Experience Required: Minimum 18 months of permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• License: Must have a permanent Ohio RN license or a compact state license in hand
• Certifications:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• At least 1.5 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID) required and must be carried on assignment
• Background check including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search (SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification)
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months of start, updated annually; must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start
• Nursys verification within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions
• Fit mask test (3M N95 1860 small/regular or 1870+) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (or chest X-ray within 5 years if past positive)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B vaccination/titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if needed
  • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation (no declinations accepted)
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start
• Two professional references from employment within the past year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific online onboarding and training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Baseline competency exams in medication administration and ECG interpretation during orientation (passing scores required)
• SafeMedicate prep materials provided for exam preparation
• Photo for badge (headshot, shoulders up, white background) required

Additional Notes

• Candidates can start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
• Candidates with a break in employment longer than 6 months at this facility may need to repeat onboarding modules
• Physical and eye exams do not need to be updated annually if currently on assignment without a break longer than 30 days
• Medical and religious exemptions for vaccines and fit mask are accepted but require agency approval and facility review
• Must include 3 years of prior work history with at least 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area on employment application
