Registered Nurse - NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

Day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
3 shifts per week (36 hours total)
Rotating every other weekend
Holidays as assigned
Start ASAP

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum of 1 year of recent Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience within the last year
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background Checks

Criminal background check within 6 months of start (7-year search including all alias, county, and national sex offender searches)
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks must be run within 30 days of start and updated monthly

Competencies and Exams

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
Color Blind Testing (14 plate Ishihara exam) required for all candidates
Unit-specific competency exam required within 3 years and updated every 3 years
Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for ICU, PACU, Pediatrics, and Telemetry RNs
Core Parts I, II, and III training required annually
OSHA mandatory training required annually

Facility-Specific Requirements

Badge photo (selfie or front-facing headshot with plain white background) required 2 weeks prior to start
Signed fingernail policy prior to start
Completion of compliance checklists and online training modules prior to orientation
Flu exemption forms must be submitted by specified deadlines if applicable
