Neuro ICU

Role Overview

Travel/Contract RN assignment in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Unit: 26-bed Neuro and surgical ICU (NSICU) within a comprehensive stroke center.
Shift: 12-hour nights, 3x12 hours, 18:45–7:15.
Staffing ratios: 2:1, occasionally 3:1.
Float scope: other ICUs and intermediate units.
Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
Scheduling: per unit needs; no block scheduling.
Orientation: 24 hours.
Locals accepted.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Neuro ICU experience with 2 years of experience.
Neuro ICU experience within the last year.
One completed travel assignment.
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
NIHSS.
ICP Monitoring experience.
Ventilator Management experience.
Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
RTO after booking is not allowed.

Assignment Details

Patient population: Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit patients.
Special procedures/unit focus: stroke management, ICP management, seizure management, critical care patient management, titrating drips, and invasive equipment.
Special equipment: EVD management, ventilator management, Zoll temperature management/artic sun, PCAs.
Scrubs: Navy Blue or White, or a combination of both; not provided.

Contract Length

13 weeks or longer.
