MICU Travel Nurse

Overview

• Location: Everett, Washington

• Shift: Day shift, 3x12 hours
• Weekly hours: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed hours: 60 hours per 2-week period

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart&Stroke
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart&Stroke
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Schedule & Work Expectations

• Weekends required
• Floating required
• Must be prepared to float to telemetry units if needed

Unit Details

• High-acuity MICU caring for medically complex, critically ill patients
• Common patient needs include respiratory failure, shock states, multisystem organ failure, CVA post-tPA, COVID, ARDS, DKA, and alcohol withdrawal
• Standard ratio is 2:1, with possible increase to 4:1 for boarders
• Common procedures include bedside central and arterial line placement, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, para/thoracentesis, and code blue response

• 1 CNA per shift
• Scrub color: any color except reddish orange
• Parking is facility paid
