Medical Surgical RN Travel Contract

• Dothan, Alabama

Contract Details

• Travel/contract role
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Orientation occurs every other Monday
• Contracts end on Tuesday due to the pay period schedule

Unit and Patient Care

• Urology unit
• High-acuity patients
• Typical ratio: 1:6 or 1:7
• Must be comfortable with insulin and heparin drips
• Peritoneal dialysis is a plus, but not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Compliance and Health Requirements

• COVID vaccination required unless a documented religious or medical exemption is provided
• Flu shot required unless a documented religious or medical exemption is provided
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• TB questionnaire required
• Drug screen within 90 days of start
• Fit test required within 12 months of start
• Physical exam required
• Proof of immunity or acceptable documentation for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B
• References: 2 clinical references
• Background check and exclusion checks required
• APS clearance form and results required before orientation

Additional Notes

• Block booking may be offered except on holidays
• Every other weekend required
• Navy scrubs, or navy pants with a white top, are required
