Contract Length

20 weeks

Unit Overview

Intermediate ICU / PCU setting
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1
May float to cardiac telemetry and, in a med-surg assignment, ratios can be up to 1:6
Adult and geriatric patient population
Focus includes cardiac telemetry monitoring, heart failure, and post-procedural care

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
IV starts
Interpretation of dysrhythmias
Management of dysrhythmias
Non-invasive airway management
Post cardiac catheterization experience
Post cardiac surgical experience
Post vascular surgical experience

Preferred Qualifications

Charge nurse experience
Wound care / wound vac experience
NIHSS

Mechanical ventilation monitoring
BiPAP or CPAP
Continuous or less-than-every-2-hour nebulizer treatments
Vasoactive IV medication management
Continuous ECG/EKG monitoring
Non-invasive pressure monitoring
EEG monitoring
Continuous pulse oximetry
Cardioversion support
Oxygen therapy
Pre- and post-procedure care
Emotional support and patient/family education
Nutritional therapy
Emergency response for cardiac or respiratory arrest
Wound care
Safety management

Additional Notes

RTO after booking is not allowed
Up to 7 days of RTO may be allowed for auto-offer consideration
