Labor and Delivery RN

Job Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Seattle, Washington
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 48 hours per week
• Contract length: 26 weeks

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of RN experience required
• 2 years of experience required in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
• High-risk labor and delivery experience is strongly preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Antepartum experience
• Post Partum experience

Clinical Skills and Unit Expectations

• Must be able to circulate
• Must provide newborn care, including eyes, thighs, Vit K injections, and newborn assessments
• Must function as baby nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Experience with heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
• Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
• Float to postpartum and antepartum, and may float to sister facilities that provide mother/baby care
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate
