Job Description
- Must have 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy (minimum requirement; if CRT license held, 10 years experience required)
- Experience required in Emergency Department (ED) and Adult Critical Care
- Experience with NICU, ED, and Adult Critical Care settings required
- Must be able to float between Adult ICU and ED
- Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience required within the last 6 months
- If assigned to NICU, responsible for that area for entire shift; may also float to ED and Adult ICU
- 12-hour day shifts
- Scrubs color: Wine
- 12-month separation period required between assignments
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Orientation mandatory during the first week of contract start (includes HR training and multiple shifts)
- Start date changes risk cancellation
Required Qualifications
- Virginia State Respiratory Therapist License (RRT)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA provider card required)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA provider card required)
- CRT certification if applicable (with 10+ years experience)
- 2 professional references required from leadership within the last year, including one from the current year of assignment
- Epic EMR experience within last 6 months
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as required
- Drug screening within 30 days prior to start
- Fit mask (N95) certification required and must be current
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required
- Background checks including lifetime criminal, education verification, and others as per facility policy
Additional Requirements
- Must complete facility-specific orientation and training modules within specified timeframes
- Must sign facility-specific documents including confidentiality, code of conduct, orientation packet, and others prior to start
- Must have completed work history verification for 2 years (10 years if CRT license only)
- Must pass competency exams and color blindness testing as applicable
- COVID vaccination documentation required but vaccine not mandatory (declination accepted)
