Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Overview

Physical Therapist Assistant role providing rehabilitative treatment under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Oklahoma
• Physical Therapy Assistant (1 year of experience)
• Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
• Experience in a Long Term Care or Rehabilitation setting

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, medically necessary treatment interventions for patients with physical functioning disorders
• Administer rehabilitation procedures such as manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments
• Report treatment effectiveness to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
• Communicate with the supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans
• Provide input for discharge summaries
• Document required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records
• Record treatment minutes accurately
• Participate in required meetings, trainings, in-services, and conferences
• Work with the supervising Physical Therapist to obtain necessary DME or supplies
• Supervise and support students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist
