Physical Therapist - Pediatrics

Job Description

  • Perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair, and floor.
  • Demonstrate safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce injury risk.
  • Treat patients and colleagues with dignity, respect, empathy, and care.
  • Design and adjust plans of care integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans.
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
  • Evaluate clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes.
  • Perform examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to patient complaints and history.
  • Produce documentation in accordance with clinical process policies.
  • Screen patients to determine the need and effectiveness of therapy services.
  • Use and monitor support personnel according to legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Complete annual education as required for compliance with relevant programs.
  • Evaluate impairments related to orthopedic and neurologic conditions.
  • Establish plans of care based on functional deficits and patient goals.
  • Complete objective testing for range of motion, strength, and daily functional tasks.
  • Complete daily documentation and charging in therapy electronic medical records.
  • Apply tape for stabilization, facilitation, or inhibition of movement.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, interferential, and iontophoresis.
  • Communicate with referring providers regarding patient progress and treatment recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in Illinois.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
