Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Minnesota, Bemidji

Job Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Rotating weekends (every other weekend)
• Unit Size: 117 beds
• Dress Code: Gray scrubs
• Floating: Required to work across all hospital departments including ED, ICU, Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics, OB, and Family Care areas

Job Summary

• Manage ventilators and perform respiratory treatments such as:

  • Ventilator management
  • Nebulizer treatments
  • EKGs
  • BiPAP/CPAP
  • Bedside spirometry
• Use equipment including:

  • Drager ventilators
  • Respironics BiPAP/CPAP machines
  • Smart Vest
  • Micronebs
  • Mortara EKG carts
  • Computerized charting systems
  • Pyxis medication system

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential via NBRC
• Minnesota state respiratory license or willingness to apply upon offer acceptance
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program
• Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP
• Agency must have Minnesota SNSA credential

Experience & Skills

• Competency in care and treatment of patients of all ages
• Effective use of respiratory equipment listed above
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to prioritize daily duties and patient care effectively

Orientation & Training

• Basic introduction to hospital specifics including:

  • Floor layouts
  • Equipment storage areas
  • Respiratory care department
  • Review of hospital and department policies
  • Brief computer training
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
