Overview

• 13-week assignment in Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Day shift, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Unit has 22 beds
• Shifts vary

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• CVICU experience within the last year
• 1 year of CVICU experience
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

• Travel experience preferred
• Level 1 or Level 2 facility experience preferred
• Open-heart recovery experience preferred

Float Scope

• May float to like units as needed
• May float down to Progressive units / Stepdown-PCU as needed
• Float down to Stepdown/PCU with 1:3 ratio and like units as needed is a requirement

Unit Details

• Mixed acuity CVICU unit
• ICU nurses care for patients right out of OR, then patients move to the other hall for progressive-level care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1 or 1:2 on ICU side; 1:3 or 1:4 on step down side

Schedule and Orientation

• Orientation is mandatory for all 3 days in week 1
• Orientation includes Mon-Wed week 1, with the orientation shift scheduled after education days within week 1

Additional Notes

• Local rate applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles
• Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours for every 13-week assignment
• Non-billable orientation hours: 8 hours
• Caribbean Blue scrubs required
