Assignment Details

• Float pool between Med/Onc, 2 surgical units, and 2 medical units
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
• Total care; no PCAs
• No tele; only occasional strip reading
• Remote tele monitoring
• Common patient types include colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, and ortho surgical services, plus medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney, and GI conditions
• No titrating drips required
• Charge nurse is present each shift and takes an assignment
• Nurse aids/patient care techs are present; ratios vary
• Respiratory support is readily available; nasal cannula used on floors
• Staff are assigned to needed areas
• Floating is to any Med/Surg pod
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• No holiday requirement
• No call or standby requirement
• Scrub color: navy
• Unit/department orientation: 3 shifts
• Start dates only: 10/12 or 10/26
