Occupational Therapist (OT) - Hawaii, Kahuku

Contract Length

• 8 weeks

Job Details

• Average patients treated per 8-hour day: 7
• Treatment slots: 50-minute blocked sessions providing one-on-one care
• Patient types/common diagnoses: Cognitive dysfunction, elbow pain, wrist pain, CVA, splinting, sports medicine-related issues, generalized weakness, post-op surgical cases
• Care settings: Post-acute inpatient, acute inpatient, outpatient
• Coverage areas: All of the above settings

Certifications & Licensure

• BLS Certification required
• State licensure required

Experience & Skills

• High-quality documentation skills required (Cerner, POC documentation)
• Documentation expected to be completed on-site while seeing patients
• Timely evaluations and progress notes (inpatient documentation to be completed the same day)
• Professionalism, timeliness, flexibility, collaboration, and ability to work in small groups
• Adaptability to changing work environments

Schedule & Work Environment

• 8-hour shifts, typically 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM with a 30-minute lunch
• Department operates Monday to Saturday
• Shifts scheduled by manager (no self-scheduling)
• Weekend work potentially required
• Holiday work usually includes at least 1 or 2 major holidays during assignment
• Dress code: Business casual or solid color scrubs, athletic shoes allowed (colorful scrubs encouraged)

Orientation

• Day 1: HR training, EMR training, department tour, work with 1-2 patients at end of day, charting practice
• Day 2: 3-4 patients
• By end of week 1: 75% caseload
• By week 2: Full caseload

• No rehab aides available
• Supervisor available onsite
