Registered Nurse (ED/Medical Floor) – Big Sky, Montana
Position Type
- Contract assignment, approximately 13 weeks in length
- Rotating day and night shifts
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, including every other weekend
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- On-call work may be required
- Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
Location

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certification (if not already held)
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to plan and implement patient and family education
- Assess patient needs and initiate appropriate interventions
- Collect comprehensive patient health data and analyze to determine diagnoses
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care
- Promote health and maintain a safe environment
- Continuously improve nursing practice quality and effectiveness
- Maintain knowledge and competency aligned with current nursing standards
- Evaluate own nursing practice against professional standards and regulations
- Contribute to professional development of peers and colleagues
- Collaborate with patients, families, and others in nursing practice
- Integrate ethical provisions and research findings into practice
- Provide leadership within the professional practice setting
- Comply with policies and protocols related to hyper acute and acute stroke care
- Participate in annual stroke education (4 hours) and trauma-related education (6 hours)
Physical and Cognitive Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Frequent standing, walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, and pulling
- Occasional sitting for extended periods
- Continuous fine finger movements and close visual acuity
- Continuous cognitive skills including learning new tasks, maintaining focus, and making timely decisions
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, medications, infectious diseases, and emotionally challenging situations
