Job Details

• Unit: Stepdown
• Floating: Required
• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years critical care experience
• Preference: Candidates with both ICU and PCU experience preferred
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:3 (not guaranteed)

Patient Population & Procedures

• Surgical patients of all types
• Medical patients of all types
• Neurological patients at times

Common Equipment Used

• Bladder scanners
• IV pumps
• PCA pumps
• Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs)
• BiPAP, CPAP, Optiflow, Vapotherm, Airvo devices

Clinical Skills Required

• Vasoactive Drip Titration: Neosynephrine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, among others
• Line Management:

  • IV Insertion (Required)
  • PICC/Central Line Management (Required)
  • Vascular Device Access/Care (Required)
  • Dialysis Fistula Care/Management (Required)
  • A-Line Management (Required)
  • CVP (Preferred)
• Cardiac Skills (Preferred):

  • Obtain 12 Lead EKG
  • Sheath Removal
  • Cardioversion/Defibrillation
• Airway Management (Required):

  • CPAP/BiPAP
  • Trach Care
• Ortho/MS/Oncology Skills (Required):

  • Epidural/PCA pumps
  • Feeding Tubes
  • Wound Vac

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS/BCLS

Additional Information

• The facility may downstaff travelers 36 to 48 hours during the 13-week contract based on weekly schedules.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
