Job Opportunity: Long Term Care Day Nurse

Location: Springfield, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Dayshift, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Summary

Provide direct and indirect total nursing care to residents during the assigned shift in a long-term care intermediate facility. The position includes responsibility for medication administration, treatments, supervision of CNAs, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign, direct, and supervise resident care and CNAs.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Document nurses notes for acute illness, doctor visits, passes, and returns.
• Address resident needs and concerns promptly and document accordingly.
• Report changes in resident condition or personnel issues to nursing leadership.
• Keep physicians and families informed about resident status as needed.
• Promote teamwork across staff, shifts, and departments.
• Attend meetings and educational sessions as required.
• May work all shifts or serve as Treatment Nurse as needed.
• When working with an LPN concurrently, assume Charge Nurse role and supervise LPN.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Colorado
• Minimum of 1 year of Long Term Care experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current BLS/BCLS certification

Supervisory Responsibility

• Oversee CNAs and ensure completion of assigned resident care tasks.

• Facility includes a memory care unit with separate staffing.
• Position requires strong communication skills with residents, families, and healthcare team.
