Travel RN Opportunity - Oncology Unit

Job Details

• Unit: Oncology (8S)
• Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Rotating weekends)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call Requirements: None
• Floating: Required (travelers must float as needed per hospital policy)
• Documentation System: Meditech

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 5+ years in nursing with oncology experience (higher requirement overrides any lower stated)
• Oncology Experience: Required
• Skills:

  • Experience with Mediports, PICCs, and Central Lines
  • Chemotherapy administration experience
  • Blood product transfusions
• Certifications:

  • Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses NOT accepted)
  • BLS certification required
  • Chemotherapy certification preferred
  • Meditech experience preferred

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Chemotherapy administration
• Central line, mediport access, and lab draws
• CHG baths including central lines and dressings
• Blood product transfusions

Dress Code & Appearance Guidelines

• Scrubs: Navy color for RNs
• Nails: Clean and healthy
• Hair: Neat and clean, no extreme styles or colors
• Facial Hair: Clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions handled individually
• Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; all other visible piercings prohibited

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this role.
• Floating is mandatory during the assignment.
• Strict adherence to unit policies including attendance, floating, and central line care protocols is expected.
