Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Specialty

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry, Pre/Post Cardiac Care, Cardiac Stepdown (Procedural Heart & Vascular Recovery)
• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Number of Openings: 1
• Call Requirements: None
• Weekend Hours: Only if needs arise (with notification)
• Float Requirements: May be pulled to another same or lower level care unit as needed

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Current RN license eligible or licensed in Missouri
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association only)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in Cardiac Stepdown, Pre/Post Cardiac Care, Cardiac Telemetry (inpatient only)
• Preferred Experience: Cardiac ICU, Cardiac Telemetry
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (no explicit requirement)

Unit Information

• Unit: Cardiac Transitional Care Unit (Heart & Vascular Recovery)
• Number of Beds: 8
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Patient Types: Post cardiac procedural, STEMI, some med/telemetry overflow
• Equipment: Telemetry, glucometer, hemochron
• EMR System: EPIC
• Unit Hours: Open 7 AM Monday to 7 PM Saturday

Job Description Highlights

• Care for critically ill patients pre- and post-invasive cardiac procedures including cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology, and vascular patients
• Utilize nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care
• Coordinate care with other departments while maintaining patient confidentiality and rights
• Experience with TR bands and pulling sheaths preferred
• Emphasis on teamwork and flexibility

Dress Code

• Scrubs: All black with facility logo on top
• Unacceptable attire: Hoodies, jackets without logo, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, fake nails

Additional Notes

• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel period November 1 - April 1 (declinations not accepted)
