Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Unit Information
- Unit: 5Atrium Ortho Joint Spine
- Number of Beds: 25
- Patient Ratios: 5/6+ patients per nurse
- Staffing: 4-5 Nurses, 1-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Department Secretary (7am-7pm, 3 days/week currently, hiring for 2nd to cover 6 days/week)
- Equipment: General nursing equipment for care of med-surg patients, specifically post-op hip, knee, spine, and other orthopedic procedures
- Documentation System: Meditech (preferred experience)
- Scheduling: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; every other weekend; no guarantee of block scheduling
- Floating Policy: Contract labor will float to like units (med-surg)
Patient Care & Experience
- Bedside shift report required
- Safety Rounding: 1 hour during day shifts, 2 hours during night shifts
- Use of AIDET communication for all patient interactions
- Emphasis on treating patients with courtesy, respect, and keeping them informed of care
Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg
- Required Certifications: BLS
- Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Experience with post-operative patients required
- Positive attitude required
- Prior travel experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
- Advanced skills: Not required
