Position Overview

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Department: Operating Room / Same Day Surgery
• Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, dayshift with variable start times
• Schedule: No weekends regularly; late coverage may be required
• Weekly Hours: 40 guaranteed
• Call Requirements: None
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Licenses & Certifications

• Nevada RN license required prior to start
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of RN experience in the Operating Room (OR)
• Must be well versed in procedures including General Surgery, Orthopedics (Small Joints, Total Shoulders), ENT, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, Plastics, Gynecology, Dental, Oral Maxillofacial, and minimal Endoscopy

Unit Description

• Same Day Surgery Center with 8 Operating Rooms
• Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Common procedures include a broad range of surgical specialties as listed above

Additional Information

• Travelers may be required to float within the organization up to their competency level
• May be required to work major holidays
• Required to pick up one additional shift every 4 weeks
• Schedule may vary based on department needs and can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice for low census during the 13-week contract

Job Purpose & Scope

• Provide optimal patient care using nursing knowledge and skills across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care
• Perform comprehensive nursing services including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed
• Requires continuous mental effort for safe patient care and decision-making
