Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position

Location: Portland, Maine


Position Details

  • Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 21 weeks
  • Number of Openings: 24
  • Shift:
    • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
    • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
  • Call Requirements: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
  • Float Requirements: Must float as RRT with some NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, adult acute, and critical care

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Years of Experience Required: 3+ years in Respiratory Therapy (highest stated requirement)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • Certifications Required:
    • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required
    • BLS required
    • ACLS preferred
    • NRP required for NICU experience

  • Facility Type: Tertiary, teaching hospital, Level 1 trauma center
  • Number of Beds: Varies depending on daily assignments; coverage across entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs

  • Equipment Used:
    • Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators
    • Hamilton T1 and C1 ventilators
    • Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line
    • Airvo and Vapotherm
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Desired Skills & Personality Fit

  • Must Have: Experience in tertiary, teaching hospital, and Level 1 trauma settings
  • Preferred: NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience
  • Personality: Flexible, team player, excellent communication skills

  • No unacceptable attire specified
