Position Details

Unit Information
- Unit: Medical Care Unit (21 beds)
- Staffing: 4-6 nurses per shift, adjusted by patient acuity/census
- Shifts:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RN/LPNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RN/LPNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 5 or 6 patients
- Equipment Used: Remote Telemetry Monitoring, Dinamaps, Epidurals, PCA pumps, Chest Tubes, Surgical Drains
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Nurse License
- BLS Certification (required)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in Medical-Surgical (MS) specialty (higher value taken)
- At least 1 year of Medical-Surgical experience is a must
- Preferred Skills:
- Medical-Surgical experience is preferred
- Typical Procedures:
- Care of medical patients
- Remote telemetry monitoring
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Phlebotomy
Work Environment & Expectations
- Personality Fit: Compassionate, team player
- Floating Areas: Medical Surgical Units
- Dress Code: Navy or white scrubs for nurses
- Schedule:
- Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
- Make-up weekends required for weekend callouts
