Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 28
• Number of Staff: 80
• Shift Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 CNC, 4-5 nurses, 2-4 PCTs, monitor tech
  • Night Shift: 1 CNC, 4-5 nurses, 2-4 PCTs, monitor tech
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:5, may flex to 1:6
• Equipment: Capnography, PCAs, Remote Telemetry
• EMR System: Meditech
• On Call Requirement: None
• Floating Requirement: Mandatory float to like units

Required Skills

• Telemetry experience
• Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) experience

Preferred Skills

• ACLS certification

Typical Procedures on Unit

• Orthopedic cases: spines, total knee arthroplasties (TKAs), total hip arthroplasties (THAs), other ortho trauma repairs
• Post cardiac catheterization care (non-interventional)
• Blood administration
• Management of heparin drips, bumex, lasix

Unit Guidelines

• Clocking in/out for lunch breaks
• Completing bedside shift report
• Performing hourly safety rounds
