Travel RN Opportunity – Telemetry Unit

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Facility Type: Hospital – Surgical Floor (3B)


Position Details

  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Specialty: Telemetry
  • Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (flexible, must be specified)
  • Weekend Hours: As required
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float: Rotational basis

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
  • BLS (AHA only) required
  • Must have 4 trauma credits or complete within first 2 weeks
  • NIHSS certification required prior to start (can submit without initially)
  • Preferred: ACLS (AHA only)

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year telemetry experience (inpatient only)
  • Competence in drug titration required
  • Preferred: Trauma experience (inpatient only)

Unit Information

  • Beds: 32
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Days: 1:5 to 1:6
    • Nights: 1:6 to 1:8 (estimates)
  • Equipment: Alaris pumps, telemetry, lift equipment
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Patient Population: Specialty Surgery – GI, GU, ENT, Urology

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Stand and walk most of the shift
  • Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
  • May work varying schedules/shifts based on patient needs
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids (high risk)
  • Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, crawling

  • Utilize nursing process for patient care (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
  • Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality
  • Coordinate care with other departments
  • Adhere to Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
  • Calm, collaborative, and communicative demeanor preferred

Dress Code

  • Scrubs: Black
  • Unacceptable attire: Torn clothes, open-toed shoes, not wearing scrubs

Additional Notes

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 – April 1 (no declinations accepted)
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
  • Time off requests (RTO) must be made on the back end; no RTO in first week; only one holiday RTO per assignment
