Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Location: Salem, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Endoscopy
• Number of Beds: 4 Endoscopy Procedure Rooms
• Staff: Approximately 25 (primarily RNs, scrub techs, and scope room techs)
• Shifts: Day shift staffed primarily; night shift on call only
• Patient Volume: Approximately 20-30 patients per weekday
• Equipment: Olympus scopes, Provation procedural documentation
• EMR System: Meditech

Responsibilities

• Admit patients, circulate and scrub in procedural cases
• Recover and discharge patients

Typical Procedures

• EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy)
• Colonoscopy
• ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
• Bronchoscopy

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of endoscopy nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in PACU or ICU preferred but not required

• Dress Code: Hospital-issued scrubs, surgical attire policy, no visible piercings
• Call Requirements: Weekday and weekend call required for all staff, including PRN

Hours

• Approximately 36 hours per week
