Radiology Technologist Travel Position
Location: Reno, Nevada
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
As a Radiology Technologist, you will produce optimal diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care under general supervision. You will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety, and assisting with various imaging modalities as needed. This role requires working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment serving a large regional population.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 4x10-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday, 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 40
- May include weekends, holidays, and call shifts
- May require floating to other areas within competency
- May require working major holidays and picking up additional shifts
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Nevada
- Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Fluoroscopy experience
Job Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures according to established protocols
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
- Verify and execute physician orders for diagnostic exams
- Maintain accurate medical charting and documentation including informed consent
- Assist with billing, supply stocking, and quality improvement activities
- Consult with Radiologists regarding contrast media and image quality adjustments
- Regulate patient flow and manage exam preparation
- Provide patient care consistent with age-specific competency standards
- May assist other imaging modalities as needed
Work Environment
- Extremely busy, fast-paced Level II trauma center environment
- High patient volume with diverse cases including trauma, stroke, and emergency care
- Exposure to advanced imaging technologies and procedures
Additional Notes
- Schedule and call requirements will be discussed during the interview
- Employer reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice due to low census
- Ongoing competency evaluations conducted annually
