Job Opportunity: RN - Bone Marrow Transplant

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Bone Marrow Transplant unit, Oncology/Hematology
• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Schedule: Every third weekend and holidays as needed
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Will float to like units including stepdown, critical care, and oncology units

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 17
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3
• Patient Population: Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant patients requiring blood and electrolyte replacement, neuro assessments, long-term IV therapy, chemotherapy, and physical therapy
• Equipment Used: Vents, Alaris Pumps, Phillips monitors, Stryker beds, Sara Steady, patient lifts
• EMR System: EPIC, Beacon

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification
• Valid RN License

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Bone Marrow Transplant, Oncology/Hematology)
• Must Have Skills/Experience:

  • Stepdown and Critical Care experience
  • Blood administration
  • Electrolyte replacement
  • Neuro assessment skills
  • Central line dressing changes
  • High risk and hazardous drug administration
• Preferred Skills:

  • Oncology/Hematology experience
  • Chemotherapy administration
  • Bone Marrow Transplant experience
  • Critical care experience including ventilators and drips
