Job Description

• Provide nursing care for dementia patients with behavioral disturbances in a behavioral health unit.
• Work in a 24-bed geriatric behavioral health facility.
• Patient population primarily geriatric (50+ years).
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 7 patients.
• No call or float requirements.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36, including 24 weekend hours.
• Shift details available upon request.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in dementia or behavioral health nursing.
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • HWC (Health Worker Certification)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
• Licensure: Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license to practice in Tennessee.
• Must be able to work in compliance with Tennessee Abuse Registry requirements prior to assignment start.
• Must have experience working with dementia patients.
• Must be calm and able to work well with others.

Work Environment

• Facility uses Medhost EHR system.
• Dress code requires solid color scrubs; facial piercings are not allowed.
• Orientation is bi-weekly on Mondays.
• No call or float duties required.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff.
• The facility is part of a two-campus hospital system offering a range of acute and long-term care services.
