Job Opportunity: RN - CVICU (Cardiothoracic ICU)

Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

Deliver nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families. Monitor changing conditions and re-evaluate care plans accordingly.

Unit Information

• Specialty: Cardiothoracic ICU (CVICU)
• Number of Beds: 14 (expanding soon to 26)
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2, varies by shift needs
• Equipment: CRRT machine, Abbott Balloon pump, External Vent Drain, Impella, PrismaFlex
• EMR System: EPIC
• Shift: Night
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: As needed / rotating
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Will float to ICU and any progressive unit as needed

Required Qualifications

• Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty Experience: Cardiothoracic ICU (CVICU)
• Minimum Years of Experience: 1+ years in specialty
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Must Have Skills/Experience: Cardiac care including open heart surgery and CABG experience is a must

• Heart surgery patients
• Neurological patients (stroke, brain surgery)
